Swagbucks Paid for My Husband’s Genuine Leather Messenger Bag

Amazon-Bag

Today’s Swagbucks success story is from Katie:

My husband, Nick, is a full-time PhD student and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the university where he is pursuing his degree. At the age of 25, he is pursuing his dream of becoming a college professor, and for that, I’m very proud!

He is a full-time student in addition to teaching at the university part-time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant during the regular school year (it pays for tuition and provides a cost of living stipend — yippie!) and working as a lecturer in the summer. I work full-time and am also a graduate student. To sum it up, we’re both very busy and very frugal!

I am an avid December212012.info follower, and so when I started noticing all of the posts and information about people paying for all kinds of things via Swagbucks, I decided to join the Swabucks club! I took surveys, watched movies, used the search tool bar, and took advantage of special offers to earn Amazon gift cards to pay for all kinds of things.

My observant husband noticed all the wonderful gift cards I was earning, and he wanted to join in on the fun. So he did!

Just three short months ago, my student/teacher hubby joined Swagbucks with the goal of earning enough Amazon gift cards to purchase a brand-new, genuine leather messenger bag. He was done with backpacks and wanted something more professional. He was also looking for a high-quality bag that would last as long as possible.

He found a great genuine leather messenger bag on Amazon that got rave reviews, but it came with a price tag of $129.99. He made it his goal to pay for the messenger bag by the time school started back up in the fall.

And he did it! Nick cashed in his Swagbucks to purchase this fabulous messenger bag, and I couldn’t be more proud of my intelligent, hard-working, FRUGAL hubby!

This year, my hubby will be attending school in style… with a great new genuine leather messenger bag all thanks to Swagbucks!

Swagbucks Paid for Our Home Projects

Today’s Swagbucks success story is from Alisha

In April 2012, we bought a new house. With moving came a lot of small expenses that you don’t usually think about when you move – specifically for us, new decorations, curtains, paint and some much needed yard work. While we have a budget amount for home furnishings, home improvement and yard work each year, we knew the amount we budgeted for these items was only enough for maintaining – not for starting from scratch.

So my husband and I decided to use Swagbucks for Amazon and PayPal gift cards to buy things we wanted for our new house instead of taking the money from savings.

We made a list of things we wanted to buy and fix, along with the prices, then put the items in order of priority. Anything that we could buy on Amazon at a good price, we added to our Amazon “wish list,” and everything else we bought by getting PayPal gift cards then transferred the money to our checking account. Over the last year, we have accomplished and/or bought the following:

• Wall decals
• Paint
• Curtains
• Shelves
• Picture frames
• Wall Art
• Plants/Dirt/Mulch/Landscape Timbers
• Energy Efficient Lightbulbs

It has been fun to “save up” for, and buy items as the gift cards arrive, all while not impacting our yearly budget or savings. We know we could have simply taken the money from savings and done everything at once, but it was nice to keep the money in savings and slowly improve things around our house, room by room, yard area by yard area via Swagbucks instead.

Now that we’re done with most of our “to-do” list, we’re using Swagbucks to buy our daughter’s upcoming birthday presents (all are on a wish list at Amazon) as well purchasing household and toiletry items that we can’t find for free playing the “drugstore game.” Going forward, I’d love to be able to buy all gifts in 2014 using Swagbucks gift cards!

Swagbucks Paid For Flights to Visit Family

Today’s Swagbucks success story is from Emily:

I am so thankful that a friend referred me to Swagbucks my freshmen year of college. I have been using it ever since and have been saving them for a few years now to be able to use them when I really needed them.

When I was a junior in college, my father got a promotion and my family (mom, dad, and three younger sisters) had to move from Indianapolis, IN, only an hour from me, to Tampa, FL! This was a difficult time as it was quite the adjustment to go from seeing my family at least once a month to only seeing them a few times a year.

It was even more difficult because I didn’t have a reliable enough car to make the drive down to visit, so we had to buy plane tickets whenever I wanted to spend time with my family. Being a college student, and now a graduate student, that can be very hard on the budget!

My family is extremely important to me, so I knew I had to do something to be able to go and visit them without placing as much of a financial burden on myself or my parents. That is where Swagbucks came into the picture!

I completed activities and polls daily, as well as watched videos and completed surveys to be able to earn more Swagbucks. I also let all of my friends know about Swagbucks and how easy and fun it was to use so I could earn referral Swagbucks as well!

I finally was able to save enough up to be able to purchase a Southwest Airlines gift card and found the perfect (least expensive!) flight I could find — and since Southwest doesn’t charge for bags, I was able to save money there too!

I was very blessed to be able to enjoy time with my sisters and parents last summer. We were even able to get a family portrait taken, which we hadn’t done in a long time!

I am excited to report that this worked out so well last summer that I have been saving up Swagbucks and will be flying to visit them again here in a few weeks!

Swagbucks Paid For Our Christmas

Today’s Swagbucks success story is from Kira:

Beginning in January of 2012, I found our budget was becoming tighter and tighter. I went from a part-time job to no job outside of the home — which meant our family was totally dependent my husband’s income. At that time, his income was not consistent and we started pinching every penny.

I found that our Christmas savings account could no longer have money deposited each week like it had been. Actually, by April I noticed I had not yet contributed to it at all. Thankfully, I had begun using Swagbucks.

Between surveys and searching, I saw the points racking up. I continued to redeem at every 450 points that would rack up for a Amazon Gift Card. In November, I noticed I had $150 in gift cards.

This might not seem like a lot, but with all the incredible deals that Amazon was offering, I was able to have a fantastic Christmas for my three young boys. The living room was loaded! I was so thankful, and realized the blessing that had been for my family.

I know Christmas isn’t about gifts at all, but for little ones, they certainly look forward to seeing those gifts under the tree on Christmas morning. My husband and I love to see that sparkling in their eyes when they first look downstairs.

I will continue to use Swagbucks as long as it is around. I’m thankful for Christmas 2012 and !!

Swagbucks Pays For “Me Time”

swagbucks-me-treats

Today’s Swagbucks success story is from Victoria who blogs at :

Being a lover of both December212012® and Swagbucks, I am committed follower of the Swagbucks Success Series. I have been amazed by people buying large items like pressure cookers, carpet cleaners, and even their babies’ cloth diapers. These huge items make me feel like my own Swagbucks story is tiny in comparison; yet tiny things can have significance to0… and our Swagbucks earnings make a huge difference in our family.

Most years I earn right around $100 with Swagbucks doing things I would do online even if I did not get paid, so why not get paid?

  • I clip coupons: So why not clip them and earn 10 Swagbucks for each one I clip?
  • I search the internet: So why not download the Swagbucks toolbar and have a chance of earning points while I search?
  • I buy daily deals: So why not earn points when I purchase them?
  • I shop online: So why not earn points when I shop at qualifying stores like Old Navy?
  • I do just 2 extra added things that take me about 40 seconds a day (yes, I timed it) earning me 2 additional Amazon cards each year. I complete the daily NOSO for 2 points and the daily poll for 1 point.

So what do I buy with my small amount of Swagbucks points that makes me love and recommend Swagbucks? I buy “me time” for myself or my husband.

I use Swagbucks to buy Starbucks gift cards so I can enjoy coffee with a friend or some writing time away from home. Other times I cash them in for Amazon gift cards and let my husband use them to indulge in books for his kindle — one of his favorite ways to unwind.

“Me time” is so valuable for reducing stress levels and helping us perform at our highest capacity. Unfortunately, money for “me time” is often overlooked by tight budgets. Thanks to Swagbucks I am guaranteed a bit of “me time” every month, AND I have the chance to give my husband some, too!

In fact, once for an entire year, I gave up my portion of guaranteed “me time” money to my husband in a simple note I attached to his kindle one Christmas; “I hereby give you this year’s entire Swagbuck earnings to fill this kindle”. He loved it.

If you are not a Swagbucks member simply because you don’t think it is worth the effort, there truly can be no effort involved and yet you will still reap rewards from the program. What you decide to do with those rewards, whether you save up for months for something big, or cash it in immediately to use for some much needed me time it is up to you. Either way, you win with Swagbucks!

Swagbucks Paid for Major League Baseball Tickets

Today’s Swagbucks success story is from Tiara:

My husband and I have been on a pretty tight budget ever since I quit my job to stay at home with our dog when she was diagnosed with diabetes (who sadly passed away recently.) She was like our “child” so it was and still is a pretty rough patch in our lives.

We didn’t have enough money saved up to take a nice vacation this summer, but with Swagbucks, I was able to get us tickets to see our favorite Major League Baseball team, the Kansas City Royals, for a night of getting away and having some fun. Baseball, hotdogs, fireworks… and it was all “free” thanks to Swagbucks!

I had never heard of Swagbucks until following December212012.info. One day I was reading a Swagbucks Success Story and thought, if they can get free stuff, then why can’t I?

I signed up immediately and started doing surveys, getting search wins, and doing anything extra on the site that I could to reach the daily goal each day. The Encrave and Jun videos on there are a really fast way to earn extra points on the side.

Even if you only get one single point for doing something, I tell myself every point counts! I also read through their Facebook page to watch for codes and special offers. Before I knew it, I had enough points for my first Paypal reward of $25 cash!

I’m so thankful that through December212012.info I found a way to help us still enjoy the “extras” in life.
