Ar120697677130375

Currently at Kroger stores, if you buy any Glade Flameless Wisp Candle for $9.99, you’ll get a $4 catalina (good for $4 off your next order at that store). There are two ways to work this deal to make it a money-maker:

*Deal #1*
Buy 2 candles for $9.99
Use
Spend $9.99 tax out of pocket
Get $8 in catalinas back
Then, send off for full mail-in rebate (from 09/07 newspaper insert)
Free approximately $6 overage after coupons, catalinas, and rebate!
Thanks, !

*Deal #2*
Buy 2 candles for $9.99
Use $5/1 coupon from recent insert (expires 10/18)
Use
Spend $4.99 tax out of pocket
Get $8 in catalinas back
Free approximately $3 in overage after coupons and catalinas–, if you have more coupons, you can keep rolling this deal!

Often, catalina deals that are running at Kroger stores are also running at other store chains, so let us know if you discover this deal is available elsewhere.

Do catalinas still print if you pay with a gift card? I haven’t gotten any catalinas for several trips now, and thought perhaps it was because I was paying with a gift card and not cash.

  • Margery says:

When I was at Kroger last week, the catalinas for the Glade Plug-in Gels printed out right when the item was scanned (at self-checkout) even before I paid.

Is Food 4 Less the same as Kroger? it sells Kroger’s brand name products.

It is running at Jewel and they are on sale for $6.99…or at least they were. I am out of $5 coupons so I am a bit out of the loop. My Jewel gave me a hard time with the BOGO gel warmer IP coupon so I haven’t tried this BOGO yet. Thanks for all the tips! I missed you while you unplugged!

There is also a $3 coupon that expired Aug 23. My Dillons (Kroger) will take expired coupons up to 6 weeks I think. I rarely have trouble getting them to take expired coupons. My store is great about taking any coupons. The other day I bought formula and 2 packs of baby food. I paid $.68 for everything. Today I took in almost $50 worth of formula checks. The woman checking me out was so sweet to run each check through one at a time. It took her awhile. The manager was sacking for me and was quite impressed at how much I got by using coupons.

The catalina has been printing out (at Jewel) as soon as the item is scanned so it hasn’t mattered about form of payment.

The Mail in Rebate in the 09/07 insert must be regional. Ours only had a $5 off Flameless Candle Starter Set and a $1 off refills.

  • Sarah says:

Hi MSM- Do you know which inserts to get the coupons from? There have been a couple deals that you post which sound pretty good, but I don’t want to go through all of my inserts, especially when some coupons are regional. I guess that would be the only suggestion I have for your blog: dates and names of inserts! Other than that, you gave me confidence to get started in the CVS and WAGS game, so I owe my closet full of stuff to you!

This is also working at Safeway and its partner stores (Randalls, Tom Thumb, Vons, Pavilions, Genuardi’s, etc.).

I went to Kroger tonight and the cats did not print. Any idea when this deal is good through? Did it possibly end already or should I call?

  • says:

Never mind…looks like it’s good through Oct 5th. I guess I will need to call.

I just tried this at a local Safeway in Northern Virginia. It’s the same deal, EXCEPT that the Wisp candles do not scan automatically. The cashiers had to enter the transaction manually, and the purchase only shows up as a “General Merchandise”. I was afraid that I wouldn’t get the mail in rebate if the receipt didn’t clearly show what it was, so I didn’t go ahead with the purchase in the end.

Just a heads-up for anyone who might have missed the Glade Plug-In gels deal from last week (buy one at $1.79, get $2 catalina)- I tried it out today just to see if it still worked and it did! Yay for free smelly stuff. 🙂

I am from the Cinti area, and the Kroger wisp deal is valid until October 5th. It printed the CATS for me, just fine!

  • says:

I did this today at my Kroger and it worked like a charm. I posted about it here.

  • says:

This worked tonight at Weis in PA. Well, sort of anyway. They are on sale for $5.20 (I think) I used a BOGO so I paid for only one, and got a $3 catalina.(not $8) I will also be sending in for the refund. Good deal! They are the perfect addition to a gift bag of beauty items from CVS.

  • says:

The wisp candles will be on Sale at Walgreens 10/5-10/11 for $5.99 with $3 RR’s… (1 printed per transaction)
Make sure you hang onto a few Q’s for that sale!

  • Gina says:

Thank you! I was just leaving to go to Kroger and decided to check in here before I left.

  • Leslie says:

How do we find out about catalina coupons ahead of time? Does Kroger publish this information somewhere?

  • Sarah says:

Beware – not all Krogers are printing Catalinas. My Kroger in Cypress, TX didn’t print. How do we know this is a “for sure” deal? Can I call to ask about it and get my $8?

  • says:

We don’t have a Kroger, but we do have a Dillons. They’re pretty much the same and usually any deal that you post for Kroger works for me at Dillons. I did the Glade Plug-Ins deal Friday and Saturday. However, I tried the flameless candle deal today, and no catalinas.

As a beginner, I am going to chalk this up to one of the many lessons I have yet to learn: If there is no sign posted underneath the price that advertises the sale price and/or the $off coupon (catalina), I will know better than to try it.

And by the way, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate all you do on this website. Times are tough and you are helping a great deal of people by providing all of this information. So, thank you!

  • says:

I saw the same deal at Tom Thumb (Safeway) yesterday.

  • Hannelore says:

More free toilet paper, iced tea and cheap hotdogs at Kroger! Unless you used all your 9/14 redplum cotonelle coupons for toilet paper at CVS this week, some Kroger stores still have the 4 packs for .99. Also, Ballpark hotdogs are .99 and with $1/2 you can pick up hotdogs for .50. One last thing, I think in the Parade (Sunday newspaper) there were more coupons for $1 off Turkey Hill tea which is 10/$10 ($1 each) this week at Kroger!

  • FrisbeeMom says:

Where is the REBATE form in the 9/7 inserts? I can’t find it. FYI – I have been 2 different Krogers – one printed the catalinas (in fact it gave me 3 of them for my 2 candle purchases). The other store printed nothing – I went to customer service and they gave me $8 cash instead. Back to the first Kroger and the deal worked again – this time with 2 catalina’s as it should have. Please help me find the rebate form! Thanks
